Project Overview

Problem / before: The customer wanted planters that could be moved during different times of year. In the East Valley summer, sun-sensitive plants can burn when they stay in one hot exposure too long, so a fixed planting area was not the best fit.

Work completed: A custom planter bed was built at approximately 45 inches wide, 18 inches deep, and 18 inches high. The planter was made from untreated cedar planks so it would be food-safe for edible plants and hold up better outside. Drainage holes were added to the bottom to help excess water escape.

Result: The finished planter created a clean outdoor planting feature that can be moved as sun exposure changes through the year.

Scope of Work

Built a 45” W x 18” D x 18” H outdoor planter bed
Used untreated cedar planks for food-safe garden use

Built the planter as a movable yard or patio feature
Captured empty and planted proof photos

Customer Benefit

For Gilbert and East Valley yards, movable planter beds can make it easier to protect plants from intense summer sun while still keeping a clean, intentional patio or yard layout.

Scope Note

This is past project proof of clean small carpentry and finish detail. It is not part of the core launch service menu for large outdoor builds, but similar small-scope carpentry may be considered case by case when it fits the handyman exemption and schedule.
