Some small plumbing-related repairs are a good fit for a handyman visit when the work is limited to fixture replacement or simple parts replacement.

Good-fit tasks

• Bathroom or kitchen faucet replacement where existing connections are accessible
• Garbage disposal replacement using existing plumbing and electrical connections
• Running-toilet repairs such as flappers, fill valves, flush valves, chains, and handles
• Toilet seat replacement and small toilet hardware fixes
• Basic leak checks around the replaced fixture after installation

What to send for an estimate

• A photo of the fixture or toilet
• A photo under the sink or inside the tank when relevant
• The model or replacement part if you already bought it
• Any known symptoms: running water, dripping, weak flush, stuck handle, or disposal failure
